SELF-EMPLOYED MORTGAGES

If you are self-employed or commissioned sales person that cannot provide traditional income verification, you can now qualify for a high ratio mortgage for purchase up to 95% of purchase price with a credit score over 680.

Qualification is based on stated income and Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment must be provided only to confirm no outstanding income taxes owing (not required if LTV is < 80%).

Verification of self-employment must be one of the following: a business license, articles of incorporation, T1 Generals etc.

There is no minimum time requirement for self employment, however you must provide 2 year employment history to confirm you are in the same industry.
